Facts About Global Warming

Global Warming
With December almost over and the New Year fast approaching, I'm creating new goals for myself, as I'm sure you are too.

Some of those resolutions include (a) doing more to help preserve the planet, and (b) inspiring others to do the same.

Global warming is scary. Not nearly enough people know all the facts, maybe because they're afraid they can't do anything about it, so they ignore it.

But knowing is the first step.

You can't learn how to fix something if you don't that there's a problem in the first place.

The longer we put it off, the harder it will be to fix.

Read on to learn WHAT global warming is, WHY it occurs, HOW it's effecting us, and more importantly, WHAT we can do to stop it!

Global warming: the basics

So, what is global warming? Basically, it means that the earth's overall temperature is rising.

Every day we release what are called "greenhouse gasses" into the atmosphere that create a "blanket" around the earth. The four major gasses include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and fluorine.

The heavier this blanket becomes, the harder it is for heat coming off of the sun's rays to escape. It gets trapped amid the gas, warming the planet and creating major changes in climate.

It's REAL, just ask 97% of scientists...

In 2010, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences conducted a study which not only says that 97% of expert scientists believe in climate change, but that they think it is mostly man-made.

There is very little people do or buy anymore that doesn't contribute to the use of fossil fuels (a main cause of global warming).

Even simply brushing your teeth causes global warming. The water runs through an electric pump. Your toothbrush was made in a factory and transported to the grocery store on a truck. You drove it to your house.

An easy way to take action

Global warming is a very complicated problem that will take much more to solve than simply reducing, reusing and recycling.

For the long answer, I recommend you check out this article.

BUT, if you really care about our planet and want to make a contribution to the fight against global warming right now, you can. And it takes seconds.

Like I said before, the first step to solving any problem is knowing that it exists. It doesn't take long for people to get upset and inspired to make a difference.

That's how change happens.

Good planets are hard to find. Check out this great article I just read at IRISYOUNGtv to learn how we can end global warming. [Tweet this.]

Let the world know that this problem exists... and that it's not too late to change.
